Donor-Recipient PHM Mismatch is calculated based on donor and recipient Predicted Heart Mass (for adults only):

PHM = Left ventricular mass + Right ventricular mass

Left ventricular mass = a x Height^0.54 (m) x Weight^0.61 (kg), where a = 6.82 for women; a = 8.25 for men

Right ventricular mass = a x Age ^-0.32 (years) x Height ^1.135 (m) x Weight ^0.315 (kg), where a = 10.59 for women; a = 11.25 for men

PHM mismatch = [(donor PHM – recipient PHM) / recipient PHM] x 100 ***

***Please note that for consistency with previous versions of the PHM mismatch formula, the calculation in this online version uses recipient PHM as reference for the %-difference

rather than the donor PHM which was used as reference in the ISHLT Registry annual report.
